5 Easy Scooter Tricks

BUNNY HOP

Perhaps the most basic of all scooter tricks, and the foundation of many other tricks, is the bunnyhop.  The bunnyhop is also known as an ollie because it is very similar to an ollie on a skateboard.  To perform a bunnyhop, simply jump off of the ground and pull the scooter up with the handlebars as you lift your feet up.

HIPPY JUMP

Another of the easy scooter tricks that you can perform without practice is the hippy jump.  To do a hippy jump, simply jump off of the deck of the scooter while leaving the scooter on the ground and land back on the deck and keep riding.

X-UP

Remember the Bunny Hop that we just learned?  We are going to build on it to learn how to do an X-Up.  To do an X-Up, simply perform a bunny hop, then twist the handlebars 90 degrees while you’re in the air and straighten them out before you land.

MANUAL

A Manual or a Wheelie is another simple trick that you can do by simply leaning back and balancing on your back wheel as you ride along.  Some scooters have “wheelie bars” at the back that make it easier to do this trick, but pro scooter riders don’t like to use them.

POGO

Now we come to the last of our easy scooter tricks: Pogoing.  All you have to do to Pogo is hold down your brakes and hop up and down on your back wheel.  This way you’ll jump up and down without moving.
